13th Annual Student Case Competition another Success Story
The 2008 Great Lakes District Student Case Competition will forever be remembered as a record breaking event. This year’s competition had 22 teams going head to head for the bragging rights of being the 2008 Champs. The team going home with that honor was Bowling Green State University (team orange). Coming in Second Place was Miami University (Ohio).
The even bigger success story belongs to all the Parent Chapters that supported the Case Competition. Donations for this years prize money was a record $13,150. The winning team took home $800 for their student chapter treasury. Second place team received $700 and all 20 third place finishers put a smile on their treasurers face by bring home $582.50 (not bad for a 24 hour learning experience).
Records were bountiful as the event had 167 record registrants of which 124 of those were students (the most ever for a Case Competition). We also had some honored guests in attendance that were meeting at the same location, the 2008 Conference Committee. Thanks for visiting us.
We were very pleased that our Association Chair of the Board Mr. Robert Vokurka PhD, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, and CPM was able to attend and do an update on the current State of the Association. Also taking part in the festivities and awards ceremony was our Chief Executive Officer Mr. Abe Eshkenazi. Creating a great networking experience for our Students and Professionals was Terry Wells CPIM, Professor UW Eau Claire.
